hi Jess :) I really appreciate the distinction you make between acceptance and giving up. For me, acceptance has become less about agreeing with reality and more about becoming available to it - I work it through something like "given that this is true/happening etc, what is life asking of me now?
Acceptance is not the same as resignation. It means telling the truth about where you are, without surrendering the desire to become more. There is something powerful about learning to hold both: “this is what is” and “I am still allowed to strive for what could be.”
Acceptance isn't giving up.
It's choosing to begin from reality instead of fighting it.
