Sometimes the most important conversations are the ones we have with ourselves.
In this piece of NP Fellow Become the CEO of Your Health, we explore why quiet can feel uncomfortable, how modern life keeps our attention focused outward, and why healing often begins when we finally make space to listen inward.
We have a constant soundtrack running in our lives and you're right Jess that we don't even realize it until we give ourselves permission to let it go for a bit.
I don't necessarily need full solitude, but being outdoors doing some kind of movement with a good playlist going is my version.
I can't even begin to articulate how hard "If solitude is healthy, why do so many of us avoid it?
Because quiet has a way of revealing what distraction can temporarily hide." hit. As a solitude lover, I totally understand why people don't sit in it, but the upside from bearing with the temporary discomfort is unlimited. Amazing post Jess!!
Really beautiful Jess as you said healing begins the moment we stop running long enough to notice ourselves because healing doesn’t always begin when something changes. Thanks for sharing and have a good one!!

When we listen better, we think better.
Silence does not I think mean that things aren’t being said. Tho one does probably have to tune in to the right frequency. 🤔
Thanks for this. So many of us need to hear it.
Our inner reality affects our external one in so many ways.
Taking time to meditate for a few minutes and journal have made a profound impact in my life.

Thanks for the reminder tnat we all need this.
Great work Jess!
Staying distracted is a great strategy for not hearing those quiet inner voices. And we can live that way for years.
