One grounded internal skill you can practice this week.

Last Sunday, we talked about what happens when every feeling becomes something to fix, explain, judge, or push through.

Sometimes we do the same thing with our lives.

We fill the calendar, fill the silence, fill every open minute with input, fill our heads with what everyone else needs, what we should be doing, and what still hasn’t gotten done.

And then we wonder why we can’t hear ourselves think.

So this week, we’re practicing something simple:

Notice where your life feels crowded and deliberately create some space there.

Not because you need to clear your calendar and disappear for a weekend.

Sometimes the space you need is much smaller than that.

Why This Skill Matters

It’s hard to know what you need when there’s no room to notice.

  • You can be so busy meeting obligations that you don’t realize you’re exhausted.

  • So focused on what everyone else wants that you haven’t considered what you want.

  • So surrounded by noise that silence starts feeling uncomfortable.

  • So determined to make a decision that you haven’t allowed yourself to say: I don’t know yet.

Last week, we practiced asking what matters to you.

This week is about making sure there’s enough room to hear the answer.

What This Skill Is

Creating emotional space means noticing where your life feels crowded and making room for whatever has been getting pushed out.
