One grounded internal skill you can practice this week.
You handle something better than you would have a year ago.
For a moment, you’re proud of yourself.
Then comes the thought:
“Well, I should’ve figured that out sooner.”
And just like that, you’ve talked yourself out of appreciating your progress.
Maybe you’ve become more patient, learned to speak up for yourself, or handled a difficult situation differently.
You recognize the change, but instead of allowing yourself to appreciate it, you start thinking about what you still need to improve.
Recognizing something good about yourself and allowing yourself to feel good about it are two different skills.
This week, we’re practicing what happens after you notice something worth appreciating because sometimes the challenge isn’t finding something to celebrate.
It’s letting yourself celebrate it.
What This Skill Is: Notice → Acknowledge → Celebrate
Celebrating yourself doesn’t require a major accomplishment or a special occasion.
It can be as simple as recognizing something you appreciate about yourself and allowing that recognition to matter.
Here’s how to practice.
