Keep the lesson. Lose the cruelty.

Your inner critic may contain useful information, but you don't need the shame attached to it.

This week, I'm curious:

What's one thing your inner critic says that you could respond to with more accuracy and self-compassion?

@Jess, The Creator An inner critic can be harsh. Exactly why kindness and self-love are necessary.

Jess, this is such an important skill to develop. You definitely can internalize negative self talk over time to your detriment.

I have a friend who does this all the time and if I'm in they're presence hearing it I always say something to point it out like "don't call my friend stupid." That usually brings a smile and the realization that they're being a bit too hard on herself.

Love the line "keep the lesson, lose the cruelty."

The world is hard enough on us, we don't need to pile on.

Thank you for reading, Melanie! I had to work on building this skill. It’s very cool your friend already does this and you support her in a humorous way!
