Who I Am

I’m Jessica Drapluk, NP, CPHON—a family nurse practitioner, former pediatric hematology oncology nurse, competitive hockey player, stock market analyst, and professional writer.

NP Fellow is where I combine all of those experiences to help high-achieving professionals strengthen their minds, restore clarity, prevent burnout, and become the CEO of their own health.

I’ve spent five years in pediatric oncology, a decade playing competitive hockey, years analyzing markets and human behavior through trading, and since 2023, I’ve been writing online full-time—building NP Fellow and creating publications on market analysis and investing strategy.

That unusual combination taught me something most health and wellness content misses: your body, mind, and nervous system don’t operate in isolation. They function as an integrated system—and optimizing that system requires understanding neuroscience, mindset, and functional medicine together.

The Foundation

Medicine showed me how the body heals.

Working in pediatric hematology oncology, I saw resilience that most people can’t imagine. I watched children and families metabolize fear, uncertainty, and physical trauma—and I learned that healing isn’t just biological. It’s psychological, emotional, and neurological. The body follows the mind, and the mind follows the nervous system.

That’s where most health advice stops. But that’s where the real work begins.

Hockey taught me how the mind endures.

Playing competitive hockey taught me that mental toughness isn’t about being unbreakable. It’s about recovering faster. It’s about regulating under pressure. It’s about staying grounded when everything around you is chaotic.

Most people think resilience means never breaking. I learned it means knowing how to repair—and coming back stronger every time.

Trading proved that discipline and emotion decide outcomes.

Stock trading strips away everything except two variables: discipline and emotional regulation. You can have all the information in the world, but if you can’t manage your nervous system when the market moves against you, you lose.

That’s true in health, too. Most people know what they should do. The gap isn’t knowledge—it’s capacity. The ability to stay regulated, make clear decisions, and execute consistently under pressure.

Together, those experiences built NP Fellow—a publication that teaches you how to develop mental resilience, emotional clarity, and brain-body harmony so you can perform, heal, and live with purpose.

I started NP Fellow because I believe health isn’t something you outsource to experts, algorithms, or trends.
